Adam Institute
The Adam Institute for Democracy and Peace is a non-profit organization that develops and implements participatory educational projects to teach the basic principles of democracy and the equal rights of every individual. The Adam Institute works with teacher and students, Jews and Arabs.

Adva Center
Adva conducts policy analysis, advocacy work, and public outreach to inform policy makers and the general public in Israel and abroad about equity and social justice issues in Israeli society.

Ahali Center for Community Development
The Ahali Center is a community-based group promoting grassroots activism among the Palestinian minority in Israel on issues of equality and the fair distribution of national resources.

Association for Civil Rights in Israel (ACRI)
ACRI protects the rights of all individuals in Israel and in the occupied territories through legal action, education and public outreach.

Association of Forty
The Association is a grassroots organization working to establish recognition for unrecognized Arab villages and the promotion of social justice for Arabs in Israel.

B'Tselem: The Israeli Center for Human Rights in the Occupied Territories acts to change Israeli policy in the territories and to ensure that the government protects the human rights of its residents and complies with its obligations under international law.

B'Zchut is a non-profit organization working to advance the rights of all people with disabilities (physical and mental disabilities and mental illness) and their full integration into society.

Galilee Society
The Galilee Society works towards the achievement of equitable health, environmental, and socio-economic conditions and development opportunities for Arab citizens of Israel.

Ittijah: The Union of Arab Community-Based Organizations
Ittijah works to strengthen Palestinian citizens of Israel in its struggle for equality. They help in the creation of a Palestinian civil society and community-based organizations.

Jerusalem Open House
The Jerusalem Open House's mission is to make it possible for the city's Gay, Lesbian, Bisexual and Transgender (GLBT) individuals to live their lives openly and freely, without fear of oppression.

Kav La'Oved, Worker's Hotline
Kav La'Oved is a non-profit organization dedicated to protecting the rights of disadvantaged workers in Israel, primarily: migrant workers, Palestinians from the occupied territories, and new immigrants.

Rabbis for Human Rights
Rabbis for Human Rights is a group of Orthodox, Conservative, Reform and Reconstructionist rabbis working on behalf of human rights issues in Israel and in the territories.

World Congress of Gay, Lesbian, Bisexual and Transgender Jews
The World Congress is made up of a variety of Jewish groups from around the world. They hold conferences and workshops representing the interests of lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender Jews.

This group is based in San Mateo, CA and has been involved in dialogue work for over 10 years. This web site has many useful tips and advice on forming dialogue groups as well as a collection of information about previous events.

Open Tent
Open Tent is a coalition of groups and individuals whose mission it is to promote understanding and appreciation of Middle Eastern cultures and their shared values and history. They organize educational and cultural activities and are based out of the Los Angeles-area.

Windows - Channels for Communication
Windows was established in 1991 by Jewish and Arab artists and educators living in Israel. Their mission is to promote a meaningful dialogue between Israelis and Palestinians through the use of media, meetings and art. They produce a magazine called Windows, written by Palestinian and Jewish children, and have a Palestinian-Israeli Friendship Center in Tel Aviv.

Arava Institute for Environmental Studies
The Arava Institute offers Egyptian, Israeli, Jordanian, Palestinian and overseas students an intensive hands-on academic program focusing on their joint environment. The Institute serves as a regional center for conservation and environmental protection activities.

Coalition on the Environment & Jewish Life (COEJL)
COEJL promotes environmental education, scholarship, advocacy, and action in the American Jewish community.

Friends of the Earth, Middle East (FoEME)
FoEME is an umbrella organization representing leading Middle East environmental non-governmental organizations. They promote cooperative efforts to protect their shared environmental heritage.

Society for the Protection of Nature in Israel (SPNI)
SPNI provides education about, and protection of, Israel's nature and environment through educational programs, a network of field schools, trips to all parts of the country and leading environmental battles.

Jewish-Arab Equality & Coexistence

The Abraham Fund
The Abraham Fund raises money for coexistence projects between Arabs and Jews living in Israel.

Adalah, the Legal Center for Arab Minority Rights in Israel
Adalah means "justice" in Arabic. It is. It is an Arab-run legal center in Israel that serves the Arab community nationwide on legal issues.

Bat Shalom
Bat Shalom is a feminist peace organization of Israeli women who work towards a just peace between Israel and its Arab neighbors that includes recognition of a Palestinian state in the territories.

Brit Shalom
Brit Shalom is a new Jewish Palestinian group that was founded in Israel. Its broad aims are equality of Israeli citizens and the promotion of cooperation with the Palestinian residents of the territories. The group was founded in March 2001 at the joint Jewish-Arab village of Neve Shalom/Wahat Al-Salam, with over 100 participants - both Jews and Palestinians.

Center for Jewish-Arab Economic Development (CJAED)
CJAED helps to provide resources and support for organizations engaged in economic development between Arabs and Jews.

Friendship's Way
Friendship's Way is a social service agency that works with impoverished and at-risk Jewish and Arab children in Jaffa. They help to provide nutritious meals, proper medical care, tutoring, educational enrichment, and therapy to young children, offering the tools necessary for future successful integration into society.

Givat Haviva
Givat Haviva is an education and research center based in the Galilee that works on coexistence projects between Jewish and Arab citizens of Israel.

Interns for Peace (IFP)
IFP trains community development peace workers, in Israel and in the West Bank/Gaza, Jordan and Egypt who initiate joint projects between Jews and Arabs in Israel.

Neve Shalom/Wahat al-Salam
Neve Shalom/Wahat al-Salam is a village in Israel established jointly by Jews and Palestinian Arabs of Israeli citizenship and engaged in educational work for peace, equality and understanding between the two peoples.

Open House
Open House was founded in 1991 to further peace and coexistence among Israeli Arabs and Jews in the mixed city of Ramle. It sponsors the Center for the Development of the Arab Child and the Center for Jewish-Arab coexistence.

Re'ut-Sadaka (Friendship)
Re'ut-Sadaka is a joint Jewish-Arab Youth Movement for Coexistence and Peace. Re'ut-Sadaka provides Jewish and Arab youth the opportunity to meet, exchange ideas and perspectives and to develop friendships across cultural lines.

Seeds of Peace
Seeds of Peace operates a summer camp in Maine for young Israeli and Palestinian teenagers that teaches them about conflict resolution and breaking down the barriers between the two sides.

Shemesh means "sun" in Hebrew and was begun by the Arab village of Shaab and the Jewish community of Shorashim in the Galilee. Shemesh is engaged in a number of community projects, including a local summer camps for Arab and Jewish children.

Sikkuy, the Association for the Advancement of Equal Opportunities, is a non-profit organization whose goal is to promote civil society in Israel and improve the status of its Arab citizens.

Interreligious Coordinating Council in Israel (ICCI)
TICCI is an umbrella group of Jewish, Christian and Muslim organizations promoting interreligious and intercultural understanding.

Israel Religious Action Center (IRAC)
IRAC is the public and legal advocacy arm for the Israel Movement for Progressive Judaism. The Center's mission is to advance religious freedom and pluralism, tolerance, social justice and civil liberties in Israel, based on the belief that these values are intrinsic to Judaism.

Leo Baeck Education Center
The Leo Baeck Education Center in Haifa consists of a senior and junior high school, a community center offering social outreach programs, a sports center, a progressive synagogue, and the Lokey International Academy of Jewish Studies, which does programming for visitors from around the world. The Leo Baeck Education Center is an institution of the World Union for Progressive Judaism.

Nisan Young Women Leaders develops the leadership potential of Jewish and Arab Israeli young women, and foster communication and cooperative partnerships among them.

Women of the Wall

Israel Policy Forum (IPF)

Since its inception in 1993, IPF has been the only independent, mainstream Jewish organization that consistently mobilizes prominent American Jews to deliver a solid message of support for an active American diplomatic role in the Mideast.

Jewish Council for Public Affairs (JCPA)
JCPA is a national organization representing local Jewish community relation councils at the national level and addresses both domestic and international concerns of the Jewish community. UAHC is a member of the JCPA.

Jewish Peace Fellowship
Jewish Peace Fellowship is a nondenominational organization committed to active nonviolence as a means of resolving conflict. The Middle East is just one area they work on.

Jewish Reconstructionist Federation
Jewish Reconstructionist Federation is the umbrella organization for Reconstructionst congregations in the United States and Canada.

Meretz USA
Meretz USA engages in educational programs in the American Jewish community about peace in the Middle East as well as supports the work of the Meretz party in Israel.

National Committee for Labor Israel
The National Committee for Labor Israel promotes awareness about labor issues in Israel as well as raises money for the labor movement in Israel.

New Israel Fund
The New Israel Fund is a philanthropy that promotes equality, fairness and justice for all of Israel's citizens. It raises money in North America and in Europe to donate to grassroots organizations in Israel working for social change.

United Jewish Communities (UJC)
Represents the North American Jewish Federations.

US/Israel Women to Women
US/Israel Women to Women provides seed money for grassroots efforts in Israel which advocate equal status and fair treatment for both Arab and Jewish women in all spheres of Israeli life.

bitterlemons.org is a website that presents Israeli and Palestinian viewpoints on prominent issues of concern. It focuses on the Palestinian-Israeli conflict and peace process, but other, related regional issues are also discussed. Bustan L'Shalom
Bustan Líshalom (Peace Groves) is a grass roots group of Israeli Jews and Arabs and Jews. They engage in a number of activities to help promote coexistence, equality and justice. These include prayer vigils, workshops, and service support to impoverished Bedouin communities.

Center for Middle East Peace & Economic Cooperation
The Center brings Middle Eastern policy makers, American government officials, and international business leaders together to provide an atmosphere that encourages a peaceful resolution to the Arab-Israeli conflict. Their activities include diplomatic exchanges, and conferences featuring Middle Eastern and American leaders seeking peace.

Foundation for Middle East Peace
The Foundation for Middle East Peace is a non-profit dedicated to informing Americans about the Israeli-Palestinian conflict. It publishes a bimonthly settlement report that provides up-to-date information on Israel's settlement policies.

Hope Flowers School
The Hope Flowers School is a Palestinian school located in Bethlehem and is dedicated to education for coexistence, peace, non-violence and democracy. They also participate in educational workshops between Palestinian and Israeli teachers.

International Forum for Peace and Culture(IFLAC)
IFLACís goal is to help build a peaceful Middle East through literature, culture and art. Branches exist all over the world. They sponsor international conferences, cultural festivals, literary readings, workshops, and lectures

Israel-Palestine Center for Research and Information
IPCRI, founded in Jerusalem in 1988, is a joint Palestinian-Israeli public policy think-tank. It is devoted to developing practical solutions for the Israeli-Palestinian conflict.

Meimad is an Orthodox group in Israel that supports the peace process and a democratic state.

Parent's Circle, the Association of Bereaved Families in the Middle East
The Parent's Circle is an organization of parents who have lost children to violence, both on the Israeli and Palestinian sides. This organization advocates for a return to peace negotiations to end this circle of violence.

Peres Center for Peace
The Peres Center for Peace is a non-governmental organization dedicated to the promotion of peace in the Middle East. It implements joint projects with regional and international partners that advance socio-economic cooperation and people-to-people relations.
